View Euro Truck & Bus Engines

With over one million Euro certified engines operating in truck, bus, coach and specialist vehicle applications around the world, Cummins brings a unique level of experience to every engine we manufacture, and the ability to provide the right engine for each installation. For vehicle manufacturers it offers a level of application expertise that few, if any, other engine companies can match. For the operator it offers world-class levels of performance. Cummins European credentials are strongly rooted, based on over 50 years of manufacturing presence and employing over 7,000 employees in the EU. OEM customers can take full advantage of Cummins application engineering support and pilot vehicle testing facility. We also draw a special strength from our huge technical and manufacturing resources in other regions. Effectively, with a Cummins Euro certified engine you get the results of a technical synergy from our most skillful designers around the globe.

As European emissions regulations are adopted around the world, Cummins engines have been developed to offer the same product enhancements, wherever they operate. Whether your requirement is for an engine to meet Euro 2, Euro 3, Euro 4, Euro 5 or Euro 6 emissions, whether you are operating in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Russia, China, Brazil, India, Australia or New Zealand, there is a Cummins engine for you.  Our Euro certified power range extends all the way from 115 hp to 605 hp to offer the most comprehensive  choice in the industry, extending all the way from the compact F Series platform to the midrange B & L Series to the heavy-duty X Series.

Cummins Euro 6

By using an innovative combination of the latest engine technologies, Cummins’ engines have the capability to easily meet the Euro 6 emission standards.  standards by combining advanced combustion techniques with the our latest aftertreatment system, incorporating particulate filtration (DPF) with selective catalytic reduction (SCR). Our highly popular B and L Series are used worldwide in more applications than any other  midrange Euro 6 engine, featuring proven cooled exhaust gas re-circulation (EGR) and variable geometry turbocharging (VGT).

One of the most comprehensive development projects undertaken at the state-of-the- art European technical centre has completed hundreds of thousands of hours of engine testing hours and  millions of road miles to refine and validate the technology. Leveraging our expertise, Cummins has balanced EGR and non-EGR technologies with SCR technologies to reduce greenhouse gas and NOx emissions. Our solution achieves the lowest levels of fuel consumption and Adblue usage, benefiting the environment and minimising operating costs. Cummins also offers alternative fuel, low-carbon solutions with the 9-litre natural gas, spark-ignited engine.  It uses CNG, LNG or Biomethane to deliver ultra-clean, efficient power with low noise employing a simple, maintenance-free Three-Way Catalyst.

Cummins engines help cities achieve clean bus goals

Cummins is pleased to join the Global Industry Partnership on Soot-Free Clean Bus Fleets in partnership with other large global manufacturers to help 20 large global cities address air quality and combat the effects of climate change by making it easier for major cities to purchase buses equipped with low-emissions technologies. As part of the commitment, Cummins will maintain public information on an annual basis to help cities choose the right technology for their needs.

“Soot-free” is defined as including any engine that meets Euro VI norms first established in Europe or EPA 2010 norms first established in the United States, in addition to any diesel engine with a diesel particulate filter, gas-powered engine, or a dedicated electric drive engine. Further reductions in climate impacts of clean buses are achievable with low-carbon fuels and engines that deliver the lowest lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions.

Nearly all of the cities benefitting from this partnership are in countries that do not have rigorous emissions regulations and do not require the sale of soot-free buses today, including: Abidjan, Accra, Addis Ababa, Bangkok, Bogotá, Buenos Aires, Casablanca, Dar es Salaam, Dhaka, Istanbul, Jakarta, Johannesburg, Lagos, Lima, Manila, Mexico City, Nairobi, Santiago, Sao Paulo, and Sydney. These cities have also committed to ensuring that low-sulfur fuel is made available and that customers and fleets prioritize the purchase of clean bus technology in order to help manufacturers meet their commitment. We make this commitment publicly and in partnership with the Climate and Clean Air Coalition, its Heavy-Duty Diesel Vehicles Initiative, and its implementing partners including the International Council on Clean Transportation, UN Environment, C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group, Centro Mario Molina - Chile, committed city officials, and other partners.
