CUMMINS POWERED FV430 WINS BEST IN CLASS AWARD

The Cummins 6BTAA powered BAE Systems FV430 Bulldog project has been awarded winner of its category “Full Scale Production and Sustainment at Sub System Level”. The honour was given by the Aviation Week and Space Technology magazine as part of its Program Excellence Awards.
Selected as one of 9 finalists from 53 nominations, the BAE Systems team has been recognised for its upgrades to the FV430 Bulldog armoured fighting vehicle. Powered by the Cummins 5.9 litre 6BTAA engine rated at 250hp (186kW), the FV430 Bulldog offers improved manoeuvrability and mobility. The Cummins 6BTAA provides significant savings over its predecessor with reduced maintenance and fuel consumption costs.
The B series engine is renowned for its excellent reliability and durability. With over 30,000 B/ISBe series powered defence applications around the world, the Cummins 5.9 litre engine provides unparalleled performance with reduced noise.

The finalists were chosen by a panel of judges from the North American and UK Defence Industry. The judges have named nine finalists for the annual Program Excellence Awards from BAE Systems, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Pratt & Whitney and Raytheon.
