Cummins PowerSpec is an electronic tool that makes it possible to tailor the operation of Cummins engines in every on-highway application.
PowerSpec works on every Cummins on-highway engine, from the ISB6.7 to the ISX15. Features include a gearing calculator, complete descriptions of electronic features, instructions on how to optimize parameter settings, and access to trip information and fault code data.
PowerSpec can be downloaded, at no charge, to any PC running Windows XP, Vista or 7. You will need the INLINE 6 adapter cable, available for order at the Cummins PowerStore or through your local Cummins distributor, to communicate with and gear your vehicle, configure electronic features, and read engine data.
Once you have downloaded PowerSpec, the process is simple. Just answer a few basic questions about your vehicle and desired operating mode, and the Vehicle Gearing feature will automatically recommend the optimum gearing for your application. The Engine Features and Parameters tool includes complete explanations of every engine feature and parameter, how these features work and how to get the most out of them. The Trip Information feature allows you to access information such as miles per gallon, miles driven, idle time and more. Fault Code Management allows you to read any fault codes that have been logged, making it easier to get accurate repairs.
The latest version, PowerSpec 5, has a completely redesigned user interface, a new Fleet Management tool, improved performance (up to 85% faster for ’07 and newer engines) and automatically detects and starts communications with the engine when a USB connection is made. A link to Engine Feature Descriptions can now be found in the navigation bar at the left side of the PowerSpec window.
